Mr. Michael Knox, Alumni Director, Legacy Early College
Bio: Michael Knox is a graduate of the University of South Carolina-Columbia. He began his educational career in Greenville County in 2007, and began teaching at Legacy Early College in 2016. At Legacy, Knox has served as the After School Director, a Mentor-Teacher, and the 12th Grade Advisory Chair. During Knox’s eleven years as a classroom teacher, his passion to help his scholars succeed has remained constant. Today he brings that same passion and drive to his current role as Legacy's Alumni Director. As the Alumni Director, Knox’s main goal is to assist Legacy students as they transition from high school to the college environment, ensuring they fulfill the school's vision of "every scholar to and through college." Outside of work, Knox loves to travel and explore the outdoors, whether that’s hiking, white water rafting or zip-lining. He believes life is an adventure and uses that excitement inside and outside of the classroom.
Qualified seniors who graduate from Legacy Early College are eligible to receive $500 per semester when they apply to the Legacy Early College Scholarship Program. In order to qualify for the Legacy Early College Scholarship Program, you must be a graduate of Legacy Early College, be enrolled in a qualified college / university, authorize your college / university to release your GPA and attendance records, and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Legacy graduates can receive a total of $4,000 (over eight semesters) to help meet college needs.
