Gifted & Talented (GT)
Scholars who are identified as Gifted & Talented at Legacy Early College Middle School are recognized as prepared to work beyond the grade-level curriculum.
We understand that these scholars have the potential to earn advanced course-credit in their individual strength-areas. We believe that grade-levels do not define a scholar's academic potential. We also believe that to hold a scholar back in order to keep him/her academically aligned to their peers is limiting that scholar's potential to earn college credit when they reach High School.
As part of the Early-College model, our G&T scholars attend academic classes and complete coursework at their greatest level of potential achievement. This might mean that a certain 5th grader spends the majority of the day with 5th grade peers but goes to 6th grade English and an advanced math class. We have some scholars who are advanced two years in one or more subjects and we can accommodate whatever potential those scholars can reach, right here on our campus.
