With the onset of winter, inclement weather prevails. Snow and ice can cause school closings, delayed openings, and early dismissals. When the weather is severe, always check social medias and television stations for emergency school announcements. We will post all decisions made regarding school closings and school hour changes on these platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, WLOS 13, FOX Carolina News, and WYFF 4.
When schools are on a two-hour delay, no breakfast will be served. Buses will run two hours later than their normal times. School will begin two hours later than the regularly scheduled time. Instead of 8:00 AM, the tardy bell will ring at 10:00 AM. Please note that scholars will not be supervised until 9:15 AM when there is a two-hour delay.
On rare occasions, developing weather may make the early dismissal of school necessary. Should the weather become bad during school hours, you should follow social media and TV stations for instructions. We will post to our social media platforms as soon as any decisions are reached. Scholars who ride home with their parents will be supervised by adults at the school until they are picked up by their parents. Please discuss with your child in advance the procedure you will follow in getting your child home early.
Scholars and Cold Weather:
To ensure our scholars are prepared for cold weather, we would ask parents to make sure to send their scholars to school with warm clothing on cold days. On days where the temperature drops below 32 degrees, all P.E. classes will be held indoors.
