Elementary Arts Program
Elementary scholars are introduced to strings and percussion as early as K5. These scholars learn the basics of music as well as instruments. Later in the elementary program, scholars and invited to join a performance ensemble where they perform at various locations around the Greenville area. Scholars have achieved Superior evaluations at their regional competition.
Legacy’s 5th through 12th grade Strings Ensemble scholars are expected to become exceptional performers, able to read music well and handle their instruments with mastery.
To support this program, the school’s ultimate goal is to own 100 percent of its instruments. Foundations like Classics for Kids are steadily making this goal a reality for LEC, and also are enabling our educators to spend more time doing what they love— teaching the next generation of trained instrumentalists.
Middle School Arts Programs
Scholars in Middle School have the opportunity to continue their Arts Program in Middle School through various avenues. LEC employs a learning program that seeks to educate the whole student, with musical training as an integral part.
High School Arts Programs
The Legacy Early College High School Fine Arts Department allows scholars to explore the world of Musical Theater, Drum Line, and Dance while developing musical discipline and professionalism. Scholars have the opportunity to grow their confidence in the discipline of their choice at Legacy.
Thespians will learn the discipline of speaking on stage, character development, musical chords, and stage management. Thespians will also explore the world of monologues, Broadway style acting, and receive workshops from fellow thespians.
