COVID-19 Resources Updated
Legacy Early College is committed to protecting our staff and scholars.
March 2024Based on the latest DHEC requirements related to COVID-19, for the 2023-2024 school year. Legacy Early College will follow the protocols outlined below:
- If a scholar/staff is exhibiting any of the following symptoms, with or without fever (100.4 or greater), will be excluded from school for suspected Covid-19 infection:
- New/worsening cough
- Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing
- New loss of taste and smell
- If a scholar/staff tests positive for COVID, he/she must report it to the school. The scholar/staff may return to school as long as the following DHEC requirements are met:
- Symptoms are significantly improving and no fever in the past 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication
- Masking is highly recommended until day 10 of illness to prevent illness spread
- If a family member or close contact has tested positive for COVID, scholars and staff may still come to school,
but will be asked to wear a mask for 10 days.- If the scholar or staff member begins to have symptoms or tests positive, then they must isolate as outlined above
- Scholars and staff should test for Covid-19 on day 7 after their last exposure, even if asymptomatic
- If a scholar or staff member needs to be out of school due to Covid-19 illness:
- These days will count as absences for scholars and leave days for staff
- Scholars will need to make up missed work
