Message from the Principal
Dear new Legacy parents and scholars,
As the proud principal of Legacy Early College Elementary School (LECES), I want to welcome you to the Legacy Pride and tell you how privileged I am to join you in calling your son or daughter a “scholar” from this day forward. Though this may be their first year with us, we are already thinking about their future. The mission of getting our scholars to and through college begins now and continues until they walk across the stage, college acceptance in hand and adorned in purple and gold. This is the vision that drives us every day to ensure every scholar receives the highest quality education possible. In order to fulfill this mission, we must work together. The partnership between home and school is one of the most critical factors to scholar success.
This commitment—ensuring that every scholar will not only get into a top college, but be
successful once there—is what motivates us as a school community. This is what
makes us truly different from the schools around us. In order to achieve this mission, we
must hold a high bar for our scholars in everything that they do. If we lower our
expectations, we will limit our scholars’ opportunities in life. This high bar extends
across academics, behavior, attendance, and parent-school communication, and will be
explained further in our parent orientation and Commitment to Excellence agreement.
We fully understand and embrace the hard work that is required by everyone who
contributes to our scholars’ success, including the school team, the family, and the
scholars themselves. As a school, we promise to do our part and will be here to support
your family and your scholar in ensuring that your contributions are taken care of as
well. With this partnership in mind, the key to each scholar’s success is our shared,
unwavering commitment to the mission: every scholar to and through college.
Once again, welcome to LECES! Please be in touch if you have any questions, and be
on the lookout for more information as we finalize our back-to-school plans. We are
excited to begin our work together—work that starts this year and does not stop until our
scholars walk across the stage to receive their 4-year college degree!
We must hold a high bar for our scholars in everything that they do.
The partnership between home and school is one of the most critical factors to scholar success.
