Message from the Elementary Principal

Welcome to the Legacy Lion Pride!

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2025-26 academic year as the Elementary School Principal. For fifteen years, I’ve had the honor of serving Legacy families alongside the most dedicated and talented staff in South Carolina. Together, we are not just educating students—we are building a legacy that will impact generations to come.

At Legacy Early College Elementary, we believe in the power of teamwork and shared vision. Our school family is united in our commitment to academic excellence, safety, strong social development, and daily physical fitness—all crucial in fulfilling our mission of guiding every child to and through college. By holding a high academic bar with 80% mastery, we lay the foundation for lifelong success, ensuring each scholar becomes a confident, capable contributor to their community.

We are equally devoted to nurturing the whole child, offering tailored instruction, daily intervention to close gaps, and enriching experiences like Future Problem Solving, music, art, STEAM lab, and media center. These programs help our scholars discover their unique strengths and contribute to the legacy they will one day leave behind.

We also know that movement fuels the mind, which is why we are proud to be the only elementary school in South Carolina that provides physical education to every scholar, every day. This commitment supports both academic achievement and well-being—essential pieces of a lasting legacy.

Our core value of “Scholars before self,” guides everything we do. But building a legacy of excellence is not something we can do alone. We need you—our families, our partners—to walk alongside us. Your support, involvement, and encouragement are key to ensuring every child thrives.

Here are important ways you will support your child this year:

  • Have your child at school by 8:00 am daily.
  • Check that your child is wearing sneakers and in uniform before leaving home.
  • Each night, check the Purple Legacy Folder for homework and information from the teacher.
  • Communicate with your child’s teacher frequently.

The mission of getting our scholars to and through college begins now!

With Lion Pride Honor,

Eyvette Schrimmer

We must hold a high bar for our scholars in everything that they do.

The partnership between home and school is one of the most critical factors to scholar success..

We will strive to create a school atmosphere in which every scholar can find success through hard work.

Subject areas taught include: English Language Arts (English, reading, spelling, writing, and speaking), mathematics, science, social studies, health, art, music, and physical education.

Special efforts are made to meet the individual needs of our scholars through individualized instruction, small group instruction, and the use of technological devices.

Our school has clearly defined learning objectives following the South Carolina State Standards for College and Career Readiness.
